This is the nicest Suzuki X-90 in existence. Maybe. What you see here is a 1996 Suzuki X90, finished in red with oh-so-characteristic 1990s side graphics, featuring 4-wheel drive and a manual transmission. It's also traveled just 108,000 miles, and it looks like it hasn't even gone that far, with a nice body and interior. And it's for sale on Autotrader.
Offered by The Auto Livery in the Cincinnati area, this X-90 really is perfect, as X-90 models go -- and it isn't saddled with 2-wheel drive to limit its capabilities or an automatic to limit its performance. Perhaps its biggest problem is the fact that it's an X-90, a car few people know about, which will likely hamper efforts to sell it.
So what is an X-90? Everyone knows the Suzuki Sidekick, which was sold for many years in North America, and which spawned a Geo version, the Tracker. In the mid-1990s, Suzuki wanted to hop on the growing "fun convertible SUV" bandwagon (think Jeep Wrangler, Kia Sportage 2-door, Toyota RAV4 2-door, Land Rover Defender) with their own option, so they created the X-90: A smaller, less practical, more playful Sidekick with two seats, t-tops and, oddly, a trunk.
Even though Suzuki sold the X-90 globally, it wasn't a huge seller anywhere -- and the experiment ended after just three model years (1995-1997). It's not common to see an X-90 anymore in any condition, let alone one that's this nice -- and while this one is pricey at $9,995, it also truly is likely one of the best examples left. A great find for the Suzuki X-90 connoisseur.
